CORNING, AR (KAIT) - A train and semi-truck were involved in a crash Wednesday morning.
Clay County Sheriff Terry Miller reports the accident happened on Highway 62 in Corning. It caused the closing of railroad tracks in the area.
Corning Police Chief Jimmy Leach said the call came in a little before 7 a.m.
The semi was carrying a piece of machinery when the collision happened.
Miller states a few people were taken to a hospital to be checked out, but Leach said there were no serious injuries.
The semi was carrying an oversized load.
"It was permitted, but it got hung on the tracks and they were unable to get the truck moved before the train got to it," Leach said.
A power line was clipped during the accident, Leach said Entergy was on scene all morning to get the issue fixed.
Clay County Sheriff's Department, Corning Police Department, Arkansas State Police, and Arkansas Highway Patrol all responded to the accident.
