JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

An honorary Jonesboro police officer was laid to rest this weekend.

Thomas was made an officer last November after the Make-A-Wish Foundation granted his wish to be a police officer for a day.

The Jonesboro Police Department let Thomas make traffic stops, go to the firing range, work with the K9 unit, and even help solve a case.

Every officer involved will tell you that granting Thomas' wish made their day just as much as it made his.

Thomas passed away last week.

The Honor Guard presided over his funeral, and he was given a police escort.

On his casket, Thomas was listed as a patrolman.
