CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A call from a bail bonds company aimed at getting money to bail someone out of jail may be a scam.

According to a Craighead County Sheriff's Department incident report, an employee with Gulley Bail Bonds in Jonesboro said someone reached out to some of their clients.

The caller demanded $500 or their loved one would be taken back to jail.

The employee said this has happened several times lately.

According to the report, the caller had information about the victim along with contact information.

It's unclear how the caller received that information.

Jeff Langley with Arkansas Professional Bail Bonds told deputies this type of issue has happened for more than a year in Arkansas and several surrounding states.

The caller, he said, typically wants the money wired to a California Walmart.
