HELENA-WEST HELENA, AR (KAIT) - You must now be 21 years or older to buy cigarettes in Helena-West Helena.

The city council voted back in June to raise the minimum age from 18 to 21 to buy tobacco products, including e-cigarettes.

The ordinance took effect Thursday, Sept. 1.

Helena-West Helena is the first city in Arkansas to pass a measure raising the age to buy tobacco.
