Blytheville Regional Airport Authority leases unused land to humane society

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) - The Blytheville Regional Airport Authority agreed to lease five acres of unused land to the Blytheville Humane Society.

Pam Ford, a volunteer for the humane society said they plan to work on getting grants to fence in more running room for dogs.

The humane society is limited in space and can only house a specific amount of rescued animals.

Ford said in the long run, they hope to tackle the city's dog issue by building more animal housing.

Ford also said the current building needs upgrades.
