DUNKLIN COUNTY, MO (KAIT) - A motorcyclist was hospitalized Wednesday morning after he was thrown from his bike.
The crash, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, happened just before 11 a.m. on Highway 153, two miles south of Gideon in Dunklin County.
Mark E. Holtsclaw, 47, of Campbell was southbound when his 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle ran off the side of the road.
Holtsclaw was thrown from the vehicle.
An ambulance took him to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau with moderate injuries.
According to the report, he was wearing a helmet.
MSHP also reported two people were hospitalized Wednesday morning following an unrelated crash near Malden.
Clifford W. Reed, 60, of Malden was eastbound on Highway J when his 2006 Pontiac Torrent ran off the road, went airborne, and overturned.
Reed and his infant passenger, Bexley G. Reed of Malden, were taken to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for the treatment of minor to moderate injuries.
According to the crash report, it was unknown if either one was wearing a safety device.
