Jonesboro hospital shows appreciation for area first responders

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Region 8 hospital showed their appreciation for area first responders.

On Friday morning NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital hosted a Northeast Arkansas First Responders Appreciation Breakfast.

Danial Reed, the hospital's marketing coordinator, said they wanted to honor first responders for what they do in our community and how they help the staff and patients at the hospital.

Craighead County Sheriff Marty Boyd was one of several first responders who attended the breakfast and said it showed how much the community supports first responders.

"It's not just the hospital doing this today," Boyd said. "There's been so many events taking place lately and it's just a great feeling knowing that people know why we're here and they respect it and want us to know it."

Friday's event was the first for the hospital.
