MOUNTAIN HOME, AR (KAIT) -

Deputies arrested three people after a search of their home and camper trailer turned up drugs and guns.

The arrests came Wednesday morning following a parole search of a home in the 4200-block of Buzzard Roost Road in Mountain Home.

During the search, according to a news release from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, investigators found .7 grams of methamphetamine, two handguns, ammunition and various drug paraphernalia including syringes, scales, spoons, and baggies.

Investigators arrested Michael Scudder, 41, on suspicion of the following charges:

  • Possession of methamphetamine with the purpose of delivery-felony
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia (2 counts)-felony
  • Weapons possession during controlled substance offense-felony
  • Possession of firearm by certain persons (convicted felon)-felony
  • Damaging wires and fixtures of utility providers-felony
  • Theft of services-misdemeanor
  • Criminal trespass-misdemeanor
  • Habitual offender-penalty enhancement

  • Outstanding felony bench warrant-drug offenses

He is being held in lieu of $35,000 on the new charges and the bench warrant, but with no bond on the parole violation hold. He will appear in circuit court on Sept. 22.

While searching the property, deputies also discovered a camper trailer. At first, the two occupants—later identified as 46-year-old Scott Lynn Froit and 49-year-old Jana Jean Brigman—refused to exit. After a brief standoff, they surrendered and were taken into custody.

When deputies searched the camper, they reported finding 41 Clonazepam pills and more drug paraphernalia. They also reportedly learned the suspects had tampered with the North Arkansas Electric Coop’s meter and wiring to obtain electricity to the property illegally.

Officers arrested Froit and Brigman on suspicion of:

  • Possession of drug paraphernalia-felony
  • Possession of Schedule IV controlled substance with purpose of delivery-felony
  • Damaging wires and fixtures of utility providers-felony
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia-misdemeanor
  • Theft of services-misdemeanor

Froit was released from the Baxter County Detention Center after posting $3,500 bond. He will appear in circuit court to answer the charges on Sept. 22.

Brigman was also charged with failure to appear-outstanding warrant. She, too, was released from custody after posting $4,040 bond. Like the others, she is scheduled to appear in circuit court on Sept. 22.
