JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A Jonesboro man’s father threatened to shoot several people following an early-morning fight Saturday.

The brawl happened in the Waffle House parking lot, 719 East Parker Rd., around 2:30 a.m.

When police arrived, several people told them that Cody Cox, 25, and another man got into an argument at the Vault nightclub.

Cox told the man to meet him at Waffle House. When he did, police say Cox “ripped his shirt off” and argued with him.

Cox then left Waffle House and called his father, Mark Cox, 57, and asked him to come to the restaurant. He told his father he was intoxicated and was about to fight people.

According to the report, the father and son arrived back at the restaurant.

Cody threatened the group of men and punched a man in his face.

The victim picked Cody up, dropped him on his head, and kicked him, according to the report.

Cody’s father then punched the victim again in his face.  Later, the man threw Mark on his shoulder.

Mark went to his truck, grabbed a gun and threatened to shoot everyone there.

Police say Cody was taken NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries. Officers cited him at the hospital with public intoxication.

His father was taken to St. Bernards Medical Center for his injuries. Police later took him to the Craighead County Detention Center.

Mark faces charges of aggravated assault and carrying a weapon.
