Man accused of stepping on pregnant woman’s stomach

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A 5-month pregnant woman told police an unidentified man was stepping on her stomach trying to hurt her and the baby.

Jonesboro police went to the 100-block of Leggett Street and heard a woman inside of the home they were called to.

According to the report, officers rushed up a flight of stairs, clearing each room so they could get to her.

After kicking in a door, police found the victim in a closet panicking and crying.

She told police a tall, black man tried to hurt her and her unborn baby. 

The woman said he had on a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and something black over his face.

She was taken to NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital to be examined.
