Jonesboro, AR (A-State) – Arkansas State senior Mallory Warrington has been chosen as the Sun Belt Conference Setter of the Week for the third consecutive time when the league office announced its weekly volleyball awards Monday afternoon.
The Lake St. Louis, Mo., native continued her strong campaign with another productive week that saw A-State go 2-2 with wins over Central Arkansas and UT Martin along with losses to Ole Miss and Tulsa. She dished out 161 assists (12.38 per set) during the four matches and also added seven kills with 29 digs. Warrington handed out 45 assists against Ole Miss before tallies of 39, 39, and 38 helpers in the three A-State Invitational matches over the weekend. She also had 12 digs against Tulsa for her team-best fourth double-double of the year.
This is Warrington’s eighth career Setter of the Week award and ninth total weekly award. She’s currently handed out 449 assists this season for a 12.14 per set average that ranks second in the nation. Her career total is now up to 3,373, which is good for fourth most in school history.
Arkansas State returns to action Tuesday night when the team hosts Missouri State at the Convocation Center. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
