College Volleyball: Harding's Zoe Hardin Named GAC Defensive Player of the Week

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Great American Conference announced the league's Players of the Week recipients for the second week of the volleyball season. Ouachita's Adrianna Nolly earned the Offensive honor, Harding's Zoe Hardinclaimed the Defensive accolade and Southern Nazarene's Elyse Berlin garnered the Setter award

GAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Adrianna Nolly, Ouachita, M, Fr., Irving, Texas

Nolly led the Tiger offense in three victories, including two at the Bettye Wallace Invitational. She opened by collecting 14 kills against only one error in a sweep of Williams Baptist. On Friday, she hit .579 in a three-set win against Pittsburg State and .368 as the Tigers defeated Missouri Southern State, 3-0. She finished the week with a .458 attack percentage.

GAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Zoe Hardin, Harding, MB, So., Amarillo, Texas

Hardin helped the Lady Bisons produce a perfect weekend at the Southwest Baptist Tournament by averaging 1.31 blocks in Harding's four matches. She had at least three blocks in all four contests, highlighted by her seven-block effort in a sweep of Oklahoma Panhandle State. She added 2.62 kills per set and a .403 attack percentage.

GAC SETTER OF THE WEEK - Elyse Berlin, Southern Nazarene, Jr., Red Oak, Texas

At Southern Nazarene's season-opening tournament, the MSU Hampton Inn-Vitational Berlin helped the Crimson Storm go 3-1 as her 11.92 assists per set led the conference by more than one full assist. She tallied 61 assists in a five-set win against St. Edwards, 29 in only two sets of action against Cameron, 35 in a sweep of Fort Lewis and 30 against Dallas Baptist.

- McKayla Benner, Jr., MB, Southern Nazarene (Tallied 3.36 kills and 0.71 blocks per set as Crimson Storm went 3-1)

- Karine Cavalcante, Sr., OH, Southeastern Oklahoma State (Registered three double-doubles; averaged 3.56 kills per set)

- Hunter Eshnaur, So., OH, Arkansas Tech (Collected three double-doubles at the Bettye Wallace Invitational)

- Carolina Gasparini, Sr., OH, Arkansas-Monticello (Averaged 3.06 kills per set and added 10 service aces)

Sara Smith, Sr., MB, Harding (Posted a .467 attack percentage and 0.92 blocks per set as Harding went 4-0)

- Sharon Tukuaoga, So., OPP, Henderson State (Hit .296 with 3.37 kills per set and 0.74 blocks per set)

- Abbey Bell, Sr., L, Southern Nazarene (Totaled 81 digs, including 34 in a five-set win against St. Edward's)

- Caitlin Cosby, Fr., L, Southeastern Oklahoma State (Averaged 4.82 digs at the MSU Hampton Inn-Vitational)

- Paige Mays, Sr., L, Southern Arkansas (Collected 72 digs and six service aces at the Bettye Wallace Invitational)

- Madison Nagel, Jr., L/DS, Arkansas Tech (Helped Golden Suns go 3-1 as she averaged 4.93 digs in 14 sets of action)

- Kya Standford, Sr., MH, Arkansas-Monticello (Tallied at least four blocks in four of Blossoms five contests)

- Ashley Wake, Sr., L, Ouachita (Amassed at least 15 digs in four of five matches)
