GREENE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Greene County sheriff's deputies just cleared the scene of a barricade situation.
According to Deputy Chief Rick Mellow, a man, later identified as Scott Callahan, has barricaded himself inside a home on County Road 305 after deputies attempted to serve a warrant for probation violation to him.
The man's wife told deputies there were weapons inside the house.
Greene County Sheriff David Carter said they tried several tactics to get Callahan to come out including calling in a negotiator from the Craighead County Sheriff's Office.
The man refused to speak to the negotiator, though.
Around 2:50 p.m., deputies shot clear-out gas into the house and forced their way inside.
They found Callahan inside the bathroom. He was in the bathtub, which was filled with water, with wet sheets covering him.
Callahan is now in custody and headed to the hospital to be decontaminated because of the gas.
Sheriff Carter said the situation was a little more difficult because the man had at least nine cameras mounted on his house so he could see every move made by officers.
No shots were fired during the situation.
Carter said Callahan's original charges were drug-related.
