Jackson County Welcomes Homes A Native Son

Newport, AR -- Hugs and handshakes greeted Attorney General Mike Beebe as he returned home to Jackson County.

"It's pretty humbling when people turn out, and they go to this much trouble. It makes you grateful for all they have done for you. It makes me grateful to them for all of the things they have done for me all my life," s

Beebe says he appreciates the overwhelming support he continuously receives from Northeast Arkansas.

"I didn't have much family to begin with, but the whole town ended up being my family, they all ended up just wrapping their arms around me," s

The Jackson County Democratic Women sold about 400 tickets to Beebe's homecoming event.

"Mike has been a life long friend of all of ours and we wanted to show our appreciation for what he has accomplished," said Jackson County Democratic Women President, Bet

Beebe did address questions about his possible run for governor.

"It's flattering to be speculating, but you know, it's down the line--down the road," s

Beebe says his main goal now is to continue to serve Arkansans through his position as Attorney General.
