Traffic stop turns up cocaine, man arrested

HARRISBURG, AR (KAIT) - Harrisburg police arrested a Jonesboro man Tuesday morning after officers found drugs during a traffic stop.

According to Harrisburg Police Chief Gary Hefner, officers pulled over 29-year-old Demarion Alan Gillion shortly after 7 a.m.

Gillion consented for officers to search the vehicle. Substances found inside the car tested positive for cocaine.

Officers arrested Gillion on two counts of possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, driving on a suspended driver's license, driving under the influence of drugs, careless and prohibited driving, and on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear.

Gillion appeared before Harrisburg District Judge Ron Hunter Tuesday for a probable cause hearing.

He was given a bond of $50,000 cash only. He will appear in court on Oct. 31.
