MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

Residents living in Half Moon are on high alert while authorities search for two thieves on the loose.

The Mississippi County Sheriff's Department is searching for two suspects they believe are linked to several home break-ins.

Sheriff Dale Cook said Wednesday the break-ins happened along 239 West County Road.

According to Cook, the suspects broke into huge safes inside three homes within the past two weeks.

He said the thieves were able to break open the safes using construction bars and took thousands of dollars, weapons, and electronics.

Anyone with information leading to arrests linked to these crimes is urged to contact the sheriff's department at 870-762-2243.
