WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) -

A group is working to appeal a liquor permit granted to a Walnut Ridge restaurant in July.

According to an agenda from the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division, the board will hear an appeal of the liquor permit for Main Street Pizza.

That hearing will take place Sept. 21.

Before the board approved the private club permit, the restaurant saw some opposition from citizens and pastors in town.

Mayor Charles Snapp, however, submitted a letter of support for the permit.
