PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) -

Instead of candy, police say they found meth inside a man’s M&Ms.

Paragould police arrested Isaiah Leo Jones, 31, Wednesday on suspicion of possession of meth or cocaine with the purpose to deliver and simultaneous possession of firearms and drugs.

According to court documents, officers were conducting surveillance on a subject from a prior investigation for delivery of meth when they say Jones arrived in a car and got out.

Officers took Jones into custody and detained the driver.

The affidavit stated during a search of Jones’ backpack police found a plastic M&Ms package containing 1.8 grams of methamphetamine, 1.7 grams of alprazolam, and 3.0 grams of marijuana.

Officers also found a black backpack in the vehicle and recovered a .380 caliber handgun with the serial number scratched off and another 3 grams of marijuana.

Jones is being held in the Greene County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
