LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT) -

A Jonesboro attorney was selected Thursday to hear a case involving a proposed constitutional amendment involving the creation of three casinos around the state.

Gov. Asa Hutchinson appointed Warren Dupwe as a special justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court to hear Chuck Lange and Bill Walmsley, et al. v. Honorable Mark Martin, Secretary of State.

The case deals with Issue 5, which would, if approved by voters, create casinos in Boone, Miller and Washington counties, officials have said.

Dupwe replaces Justice Courtney Goodson, who recused herself from the case.
