Walnut Ridge, Ark. - Athletes at Williams Baptist College have begun training in a newly expanded and renovated weight room. The facility, which covers over 3,000 square feet, is now open for use by WBC’s intercollegiate sports teams.
“This is going to be a great facility for our student athletes to train, develop and work out,” said WBC Athletic Director Jeff Rider. “We always strive to enhance the student athlete experience at Williams, and we want to thank the donors and college administration for helping us take a major step forward with this weight room.”
Features of the new weight room include a revamped floor, new air conditioning, new mats, new racks and platforms where the athletes do their weight training, new dumbbells and a complete overhaul of weight equipment. It is located at the WBC Athletic Annex on the southeast corner of the campus.
The facility was funded in large part by gifts from Mosco Cash, Jr., of Harrison, Ark., and an anonymous donor, as well as proceeds from the WBC Golf Tournament.
