WOODRUFF COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A Northeast Arkansas community mourns the loss of one of their own law enforcement officers.

McCrory Police Officer Robert Barker hit a deer and overturned his vehicle early Thursday Morning.

He later died in the hospital.

The 26-year-old leaves friends and family behind.

The ABC affiliate in Little Rock, KATV, spoke to some of Barker's friends and family.

Brandon Huckabee was a close friend. During the interview, he got very emotional.

Huckabee wiped away tears as he said he wanted Barker's family to know he loved him and was a guy who would do anything for anybody.

McCrory Police Chief Paul Hatch told KATV they are planning to do something in his honor.
