JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Arkansas State University has sent a warning to all employees after a reported "email phishing scheme."
The warning comes after A-State employees reported discrepancies in their paychecks Thursday and Friday.
The university states in an article on their website, "Several employees are victims of an email phishing scheme that led to breaches in their personal Banner accounts and allowed individuals to redirect their direct deposit."
Fewer than 10 employees have been impacted by the breach, according to Dr. Bill Smith, executive director of Marketing & Communications for A-State.
University Police Department is in contact with the FBI to begin an investigation, according to the university.
Employees who have discovered anything strange with their paychecks for Sept. 15 should contact Katrina Watson or Lynette Gatewood at 870-972-3454.
