STEELE, MO (KAIT) - Police in Steele arrested a 29-year-old woman after they say she neglected her dog.
According to a news release on the police department's Facebook page, the charge stems from an incident on Aug. 18 when police received a report of a neglected dog at a home on Gifford Street.
Officers found a large dog locked inside a crate with no food or water and covered in its own feces and urine.
The dog was taken to the Blytheville Animal Hospital and received medical care.
It is now being housed at the Steele Humane Shelter and is doing much better.
The unidentified woman now faces animal neglect charges and is expected to appear in Steele Municipal Court.
