Company announces expansion, adding 400 new jobs

BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) - An Independence County company is expanding with plans to bring 400 new jobs to the Batesville area.

According to a news release, Intimidator Inc. is expanding its current manufacturing facility in Batesville and building a second facility in the Independence County Industrial Park.

Intimidator makes 4x4 utility vehicles and zero-turn mowers.

The $12 million expansion will add 400 new full-time jobs over the next four years.

"The fact that Intimidator is creating 400 new jobs reflects the company's rapid growth in the utility vehicle market," Governor Asa Hutchinson said in the news release.

Robert and Becky Foster own Intimidator Inc., along with Bad Dawg Accessories, Spartan Mowers, and Gourmet Guru Grill. Combined, the companies currently employ 111 people in Batesville.

Batesville Mayor Rick Elumbaugh is excited about the company's expansion.

"We are delighted that Robert and Becky Foster have chosen to expand their manufacturing operations here in Batesville," Elumbaugh said. "The Foster Family is yet another example of how important the entrepreneurial spirit is to Arkansas."
