PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) -

A Memphis man is behind bars after police say they found a large amount of drugs in his motel room.

On Sept.16, the manager of the Econo Lodge, 2310 W. Kingshighway, called Paragould police after noticing a strong odor of marijuana coming from one of the motel’s rooms.

According to an affidavit, when officers with the department’s Street Crimes Unit arrived at the room, a K9 was released and gave officers a positive alert for the odor of a narcotic.

After getting a search warrant, the affidavit states officers searched the room and found 14.8 grams of meth, 213.2 grams of marijuana in brick form, digital scales, and plastic baggies used to separate and sell the drugs.

Christopher Milan of Memphis was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia.
