JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A man who led police on a chase after he took a fellow officer's cruiser pleaded guilty to theft of property and fleeing in a vehicle causing danger.
Albert Brown, 39, took a Jonesboro police squad car in May and claimed that the "Ku Klux Klan had tampered with his transmission and they may try to kill him", according to a police report.
Circuit Judge Victor Hill sentenced Brown to five years probation and gave him credit for 120 days time served in the county jail.
If Brown violates the terms of his probation, a judge could send him to prison for 26 years.
