School bus lot once again victim of vandals

School bus lot once again victim of vandals

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A month ago, after vandals once again took aim on their buses, Nettleton's transportation director said the school district would take steps to prevent it from happening again.

Apparently, those efforts have not yet paid off.

Over the weekend, someone damaged three buses at the bus lot, 1211 Dewey.

Two had broken back windows and the third had a broken tail light, according to the initial incident report. The estimated cost to repair the damage: $340.

This past summer, the Nettleton School District reported multiple acts of bus vandalism in June and July. In addition to the broken bus windows, someone also stole a school maintenance truck.

Ron Cooper, who is the facilities and transportation director for the Nettleton School District, told Region 8 News on Aug. 11, the district was considering installing better lighting and higher solid fences.
