MONETTE, AR (KAIT) - Buffalo Island Central School District started a new homework policy two years ago and school officials said it has had a positive effect.
Homework Experience is an experiment where teachers assign English and math homework on Monday and Wednesday, social studies and science on Tuesday and Thursday, and no homework on Friday.
"I just think in 2016 with all the technology we have, with the trained teachers we have that handle every mandate that the state sends them, I think they are professional enough to find a way to do it without having all the homework," said BIC Principal Randy Rose.
Rose also said the elementary and high school is performing well academically which was not the case before the experiment.
