MAYNARD, AR (KAIT) - The school year in Maynard is well underway and students are learning with the latest technology.
More than 200 students at Maynard High School are using Apple iPads.
According to a news release, representatives from Apple, along with state lawmakers and other guests, presented the iPads to students at the beginning of the school year in August.
Teachers received a Mac computer and iPad and each classroom has a new projector and Apple TV.
Principal Cindy Dauck said the school received the technology through the grant as part of the ConnectED initiative.
According to Dauck, the grant process was lengthy and in-depth.
"They really left no stone unturned," Dauck said in the news release. "Before any of the products were delivered there was a team of people here in Maynard, on the ground, conducting a full survey of our needs and capabilities."
Apple partnered with the ConnectED initiative and pledged more than $100 million dedicated to helping 114 schools across the nation, including Maynard High School.
