Searcy man faces aggravated robbery charge

SEARCY, AR (KAIT) - A White County man faced a judge Wednesday after his arrest in connection with a robbery at a Searcy store earlier this month.

D'Monte Shockley, 25, of Searcy was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery in a Sept. 17 incident at Holy Smokes Tobacco Store on South Main Street.

According to Searcy police public information officer Terri Lee, witnesses provided a description of Shockley while police reviewed video footage from the store. Shockley also reportedly dropped a knife as he left the store.

He was in the White County jail Wednesday night on a $100,000 bond in the case. Lee said the case was still under investigation.

The amount of money taken during the robbery was not released.
