NAYLOR, MO (KAIT) -

There will be no school Thursday for the Naylor R-2 School District.

According to a text sent out Wednesday night, the school will be closed so that students and staff can attend a Celebration of Life service for Jason Rose.

Rose died Sunday. He was 39.

A Facebook group created to support Rose and his family indicates the man was diagnosed with "stage 4 adenocarcinoma cancer of the pancreas..."

An obituary found online states Rose was the principal at the Naylor Elementary School as well as an associate pastor at New Covenant Fellowship Church.

The service will be at 2 p.m. at New Covenant Fellowship Church, 3396 Kanell Blvd., in Poplar Bluff.
