LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT) - A poll released Thursday has the Republican nominee for the White House with over a 20 point lead against his Democratic opponent with less than seven weeks before the general election.
According to a Talk Business & Politics-Hendrix Poll, Republican Donald Trump leads Democrat Hillary Clinton by a 55-34% margin in the Natural State.
Seven percent picked other candidates while another 4% were undecided.
The poll also showed independents leaning heavily toward the real estate mogul turned reality TV star, with 66% of Arkansas independents picking Trump while 20% selected the former Secretary of State.
As for the incumbent President, the poll gave Barack Obama a 34% approval rating, with 60.5% of those in the poll giving Obama an unfavorable view.
The poll, which was taken Sept. 15-17, also measured party identification among people who were polled. 43% of those surveyed identified themselves as Republicans, while 32% called themselves Democrats.
Independents made up about 20% of those surveyed, with 5% identifying themselves as other.
The poll questioned 831 likely Arkansas voters, with a margin of error of + or - 3/4%. For more information about the study and analysis, click here.
