KENNETT, MO (KAIT) -

Police arrested a Kennett man and woman Thursday night in connection with an investigation into a stabbing.

According to a post on the Kennett Police Department's Facebook page, Robert Easley, 58, and Cynthia Lester, 48, were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of first-degree assault in connection with the stabbing.

Kennett police went to a home in the 400-block of Beaton Street around 8 p.m. Wednesday. Officers found one person had been stabbed in the arm and the suspects had fled the scene.

Easley and Lester were arrested during a traffic stop after the stabbing happened, according to the post.

Both Easley and Lester were in the Dunklin County jail awaiting charges from the state prosecutor's office in Missouri.
