A-State Men's Golf Stands Fifth at Memphis Intercollegiate

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (9/26/16) – The Arkansas State men's golf team shot a combined 606 Monday at the Colonial Country Club, completing the Memphis Intercollegiate's opening two rounds in fifth place among 13 teams.

A-State recorded a first-round 306 before coming back to cut six strokes off that total in the second.  The Red Wolves ended the day only one stroke behind fourth-place Southern Mississippi and just six strokes behind leader Central Arkansas.

A-State was led by three players who are currently among the top 25 individual leaders, including Andrew Huseman, Tanner Napier and Joel Wendin.  Huseman is tied for third place with a combined 146, Napier tied for 16th with a 152 and Wendin tied for 22nd with a 154.

Also competing for A-State, Trent Jones is tied for 44th place with a 156, Matthew Loiacano is tied for 56th with a 159 and Kevin Kramarski is tied for 74th.  Kramarski is participating as an individual.

The tournament's third-and-final round will be played tomorrow.
