JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Jonesboro nightclub will pay a hefty fine after a large fight in its parking lot ended with a man pulling a weapon on a crowd of people.

During its Sept. 26 meeting in Little Rock, the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board fined Diamond Grill $2,250 and placed it on six months probation.

The penalty stems from a near riot on July 3 at the club, located at 305 North Airport.

Witnesses told police the fight started inside the club before spreading to the parking lot. Once outside, an officer reported seeing a man pull a gun from his car then point it toward the crowd.

Police arrested Tre'von Lamont Chew on suspicion of aggravated assault, carrying a weapon and disorderly conduct.

Diamond Grill has until Oct. 11 to pay its fine or its permit will be suspended.
