Dog blamed for causing crash

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A dog may be to blame for a rollover crash that sent a man to the hospital.

Around 10 a.m. Tuesday, Arkansas State Police and Bono emergency officials responded to a one-vehicle crash on Craighead County Road 398.

Corporal Scott Irving of ASP said the driver of a 2008 Ford Escape was southbound on U.S. Highway 63 when, according to the driver, a dog ran out in front of him.

The driver swerved to avoid hitting the animal, ran off the road on the east side and into the ditch where his car rolled over.

The driver, who has not been identified, was the only person in the car. An ambulance took him to a local hospital with minor injuries.

ASP is investigating the crash.
