JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police say it may be at least a week before they know how a kidnapped store manager died.

Sunday night police found the body Loretta Ann "Laurie" Pixler, 45, of Jonesboro on Interstate 555 near Payneway.

Investigators say a man abducted Pixler at gunpoint from the parking lot of Dollar Tree, 2917 E. Nettleton, after robbing her and another employee as they left the store Sunday night.

After stealing the cash and the other employee's phone, the suspect forced Pixler into her black Hyundai Accent and drove away with her. The other victim reported last seeing them heading south down Red Wolf Boulevard.

A short time later, Poinsett County officials and Arkansas State Police received a 911 call from a man claiming he had hit an "unknown object" in the middle of I-555.

When officers arrived, they found Pixler's body.

Investigators discovered her car crashed in a ditch a short distance away on Highway 14, about 3-5 miles from her body.

Both Pixler's body and the car have been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab in Little Rock.

Captain Lynn Waterworth of the Jonesboro Police Department tells Region 8 News it may be a week before they know if Pixler was dead before or after the car hit her.

"Generally, it is usually a few days to a week at the absolute earliest," Waterworth said when asked when they expect the results. "Sometimes as much as a week or more on preliminary results. Full autopsy reports may take as long as a month or more to be completed."

When asked if surveillance video was available of the possible suspect, Waterworth said, "Not at this time."

The detective said there were no new developments she could share at this time.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing a dark short-sleeved shirt and gray pants with a red bandanna over his face.
