Harding Soccer: Bethany Sutherland and Hannah Wilhelm Named GAC Players of the Week

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The Great American Conference announced the league's Players of the Week for the fourth week of the women's soccer season. Southwestern Oklahoma State's Alimate Rabo and Harding's Bethany Sutherland shared the Offensive accolade. Harding's Hannah Wilhelm earned the Defender honor and Ouachita's Erin Webster claimed the Goalkeeper award.


GAC CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Alimata Rabo, Southwestern Oklahoma State, F, Fr., Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso

Rabo, the leader across the entire NCAA in goals, goals per game and points per game, netted five goals in victories against Northwestern Oklahoma State and East Central. In a 6-1 win vs the Rangers, she tallied her third hat trick in seven games this season to set the school record for goals in a season, 13. She followed up with two goals in just 45 minutes in a 4-0 win vs ECU.

GAC CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Bethany Sutherland, Harding, M, So., Orange, California
Sutherland scored all four Harding's goals in wins against Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Nazarene. She recorded the second hat trick of her career against the Bison. She scored the lone goal against the Crimson Storm off of a penalty kick in the 84th minute. She entered the week with just one goal through Harding's first five games.

GAC DEFENDER OF THE WEEK - Hannah Wilhelm, D, Sr., Greenville, Texas

Wilhelm anchored a Lady Bison defense that registered a pair of shutouts against GAC opponents. She played the full 90 minutes and picked up an assist on the first goal scored and she helped defend a 3-0 win against Oklahoma Baptist. She played 84 minutes in a 1-0 win against Southern Nazarene.


GAC GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK - Erin Webster, Ouachita, Fr., Alvin, Texas

Webster posted shutouts against Southern Nazarene and Oklahoma Baptist to lead the Tigers to their first two victories of the season. She made 10 saves in a 2-0 win against the Crimson Storm. Against the Bison, she made 10 saves in a 1-0 overtime win. She leads the GAC in save percentage, .908, and sits in a virtual tie for the lowest goals-against average, 0.82.
