JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Valley View Elementary students brought school supplies to their classrooms to give to students in Louisiana.

PTA members with the school district delivered the supplies to an elementary school in Scott, hit hard by the August floods.

“Parents had just bought their school supplies, had just had open house, so all of their supplies were in the school,” Kimberley Bartee, the PTA’s fundraiser chair said. “All the teacher's supplies were set up, everything ready for the school year and then the flood happened.”

Bartee said the Valley View students definitely made a difference and gave a helping hand.

"Those kids lost everything," Bartee said.

They were able to fill up the entire elementary school with the supplies.

Bartee said she is proud of the students and parents for their dedication in helping the flood victims.
