JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

On Saturday hundreds of people participated in the Share Hope Walk for Remembrance and Hope in Jonesboro.

The event honored the memory of babies who have died and offered support for their families.

Participants walked one mile and released balloons.

NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital holds the event each year to support the families who lose babies through miscarriage, during delivery, or in the first few months of life.

Jeremy Frakes walked the mile on Saturday and he said the event really does make a difference.

“Getting the message out that you're not alone when you go through this loss, and that there is a support system out there,” Frakes said.

Families got to hear the reading of the names of babies being honored.

The memorial walk ended in the hospital’s prayer garden.
