Two SeMo Men Survive Colorado Plane Crash

MAY 11, 2005 - Posted at 10:35 a.m. CDT

FORT COLLINS, CO - Two southeast Missouri men survive the crash of their single-engine airplane in Colorado.

The plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Fort Collins yesterday.

Pilot Brett Williamson of Dexter told police the plane had no power during takeoff at Fort Collins Downtown Airport.

Williamson and passenger Dean Bishop had just bought the 1965 Citabria plane, which was heavily damaged.  Fuel spilled during the wreck did not ignite.

The two were flying back to Missouri.
