Jonesboro convention center approved for tax incentives

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

The Hyatt Place Hotel and Convention Center being built in Jonesboro has been approved for tax incentives.

Arkansas Economic Development Commission spokesman Scott Hardin the hotel and convention center, located off of Interstate 555, could qualify for up to $7.5 million in incentives.

The hotel is said to be a $50 million project. Developers hope to open the center and hotel in 2018.

Chris Keller, the CEO of Northern Arkansas Hotel and Convention Center LLC, said the incentives will allow him to expand the convention center part of the project.
