SEARCY, AR (KAIT) -

The Department of Defense recognized a Region 8 police chief Friday for his dedication and support of employees serving their country.

For his “extraordinary support of his employees serving in the Guard and Reserve,” the Arkansas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (EGSR), a DoD office, honored Searcy Police Chief Eric Webb with its 2016 Patriot Award.

The award recognizes employers who provide support and cooperation to their enlisted employees.

Staff Sergeant Michael Bullock, of the C CO 1-153 in 39th IBCT, nominated Webb for the honor.

“Ever since I started at the Searcy Police Department, Chief Webb has supported my military career in every way possible,” Bullock said. “He goes above and beyond in accommodating my training schedules, as well as encouraging my application of military training into the realm of law enforcement.”
