JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro police are searching for a man who forced his way into a man’s home then beat and robbed him.

The 26-year-old victim said he and his girlfriend were asleep when they awoke at 3:30 a.m. Sunday to find a black man wearing a red mask standing in the bedroom of their home in the 3200-block of Fairview Street.

The victim said the burglar began to hit him with a baseball bat.

After stealing the victim’s wallet, cellphone and some jewelry, the suspect then ran out of the house.

It’s believed the suspect entered through an unlocked back door.

An ambulance crew took the victim to a local hospital for treatment of injuries to his hands and knee.
