White Co. man upset over protest at football game

BEEBE, AR (KAIT) - A Beebe man is voicing his concerns after seeing coaches from an opposing team take a knee during Beebe's homecoming game.

It's part of a nationwide controversy.

More than a month ago, NFL star Colin Kaepernick refused to stand for the national anthem.

According to ABC affiliate KATV, Little Rock-Parkview football coaches were seen taking a knee last Friday.

Justin Stricklin is a 2003 graduate of Beebe High School.

"It's total disrespect, I mean...the National Anthem, it's the American flag. It's representing us the citizens not whoever they think they're being oppressed by," Stricklin told KATV.

He said he wants the coaches to apologize.

Stricklin told KATV he wants the coaches to teach players alternative ways to express their first amendment rights.
