Bullets found outside public library

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - An employee found bullets, not books, outside the Craighead County-Jonesboro Public Library.

David Eckert, the library's director, told police Tuesday morning the IT technician found a box containing 33 .40 caliber handgun bullets near the air conditioning units outside the library located at 315 W. Oak.

The ammunition, of various brands, were in a cardboard Winchester box.

Eckert told Officer David Stout that "homeless people" sometimes sleep by the units at night. He believed that someone forgot them there.

Stout entered the bullets into evidence for release should the owner claim them.
