JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A trio of people suspected of breaking into several cars and stealing items from them were arrested while they were still in one of the neighborhoods they're accused of hitting.
Jonesboro police say Brice Alexander and Marielle Ramon Brownlee, both 19, along with a 17-year-old juvenile were arrested in connection to several thefts. The crimes occurred in the Huntcliff and Griffin Park subdivisions in south Jonesboro.
According to the report, a person in the Huntcliff neighborhood called police when he noticed people in a light-colored Ford Mustang checking out vehicles to see if they were unlocked. That call came in just before 3 a.m. Wednesday. Shortly after, officers pulled over a yellow Mustang just a couple blocks away. After detaining the suspects, the officers reported finding several stolen items in the car.
There were six different victims listed in the reports. Some of the items reported stolen included cash, a backpack and several debit and credit cards. The stolen items were returned to the rightful owners.
Alexander, Brownlee and the unnamed juvenile are facing possible charges of breaking and entering and theft.
Alexander and Brownlee also face a possible charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. They are in the Craighead County Detention Center. The juvenile was taken to Juvenile Detention Center.
