OSCEOLA, AR (KAIT) -

Osceola police are investigating a Wednesday night shooting that left one man dead.

John Williams, 28, was killed in the shooting.

According to a few people who live in the area, the neighborhood has not seen this kind of violence in several years.

One neighbor who witnessed the aftermath of the shooting said it was a devastating scene.

"I heard four consistent shots," James Seals said."At that point, I could feel the pressure from the gun so I was trying to spot out where it was coming from."

Seals added that his children usually pass by the victim's home.

"I am just glad there wasn't anyone on the street," Seals said

One man whose son was a friend of the victim said the loss is a tragedy.

"To wake up to something like this, you want it to be a dream, but it's not," Tyrone McNeals said. "Senseless acts of stuff like this it shouldn't happen."

Police are following some leads they have on the case, and the investigation is ongoing.
