JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Central Baptist Church is reaching out through their women’s ministry to help a woman who was homeless.

The church has helped the woman through donations and guidance.

According to Nicole Arbuckle who helps lead the church’s women’s ministry, the young woman walked there months ago from the Salvation Army and has been attending ever since.

“Some people here just encouraged her to get a good job, save all her money so she could get out on her own,” said Arbuckle.  “She saved up enough to get her own apartment, but she had nothing when she moved in.”

According to Arbuckle, the woman only had a couple of towels and some clothes but never asked the church for anything.

However, the women’s ministry gathered donations including furniture and money.

Through the ministry, they were able to partially furnish her apartment.

Arbuckle said the church was not doing this for any accolades, they merely wanted to do God’s work.

Anyone wishing to donate to the church or join the women’s ministry is welcome and can contact them via phone at 870-935- 1950.

The women’s ministry also plans to share more on the story when they gather at the church on Nov. 7, at 6 p.m. for “Mocha Monday."
