Blytheville fire investigated as arson

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) - An arson investigation is underway following a house fire.

Blytheville Fire Chief Mike Carney says an abandoned house near the intersection of Pharo and Mitchell Streets was intentionally set on fire. However, he says the investigation is not complete.

The fire broke out at the house just after 10 p.m. Sunday.

Crews were on the scene for hours working to contain the fire.

Video posted online show the house was fully involved.

This is the second arson investigation the BFD is investigating in as many weeks.

On Oct. 12, the department also worked a vacant house fire which was determined to be arson.
